Do It Now!
A reporter from our local newspaper recently interviewed me and Stretch for an article about our blog. As you can see, Stretch was featured quite prominently and even got into 2 pictures, while I was only asked to appear in the one photo with him. If this keeps up, I fear he'll be the newest balloon addition to the Macy's parade--and with his huge ego puffing him up, they won't need to use helium!
Stretch wanted to make sure his friends noticed his "very dapper photo."
This article appeared at the same time I was taking part in a discussion with some of my "sisters" from the Story Circle Network about giving yourself permission to write, or for that matter, to do some of the things you've always wanted to do but never seem to find the time to start. I'll repeat what I told them about my own experience in the hope that it will spur others to take that leap of faith and get started on whatever project that's been brewing in the back of your mind for quite a while:
Having cancer taught me that the time to do what you want is NOW. I started writing the blog as a fun escape from dealing with illness, never dreaming it would lead to amazing opportunities and bring me many wonderful new friends. So stop procrastinating, stomp out the guilt feelings, turn a blind eye to the dust and laundry and listen to what that small inner voice is telling you that you really want to do. Then do it.

You, and Stretch, are an inspiration, Cathy. Kudos on being featured in the newspaper article!
Thanks Linda! The support of my Story Circle sisters played a major role in giving me the confidence to become a blogger, so I owe you a big hug when we meet one day.
Wonderful article and great pictures, too!

Thanks so much! It's nice to be recognized as the power behind the human. And thanks again for those delicious graham crackers. I can't wait to taste your peppermint cupcakes. Stretch

Thanks Glen! And thank you for bugging me to start writing this blog! I wouldn't be having all this fun without friends like you who are so supportive.
